I purchased this hut to rescue a queen cat & her newborn kittens to nurse them inside. Now they are older & rehomed I have other outdoor cats visiting and using this hut to sleep inside. It is big enough for one cat or two if they get on. I didn’t want the cats using our patio cushions on chairs so I made this hut a cosier alternative. To keep the hut cool in summer & warm in winter I stuck self adhesive thermal foil insulation inside all walls floor and ceiling. I then sewed & quilted a fleece cat bed with cutouts for the door flap & window. Self adhesive Velcro was used to attach the cat bed along the top edges , and around the door flap and window inside the hut. A kitchen cloth was stuck on the ceiling to absorb condensation using double sided sticky tape. Stuck large felt bumper stickers to raise the lid a little to allow for breathability & VENTILATION to reduce condensation on the ceiling as the door flap wasn’t enough for ventilation due to the foil insulation. For my pleasure to see this cute cat inside at night I stuck a motion very dim light on the ceiling (I will remove if it bothers him). I also stuck a motion dim light outside on the leg so they can see from inside any predators approaching. I made scratch posts using cardboard kitchen roll on the front hut legs and using a glue gun to wrap sisal rope. This cat has used it to scratch and immediately went inside and now sleeps there every night instead of on our patio chairs. So far so good. He looks so cute inside. In the summer I will make a cotton cat bed and remove the fleece bed. To keep clean i hoover and use lint roller. A clear plastic sheet now covers all above and around except the front to on keep the roof dry from rain water soaking through. An outdoor small Electric blanket also added. Every garden with cats should have this for them to shelter from wind rain ice snow and heat. They really need it & love it!

It’s great, my cat is using it, although I’ve had to tie the cat flap up for him as he’s never used one before and it’s been confusing him. We’ve had some heavy rain and his bedding is still dry. I’m pleased
