Pros: kit arrived as planned. quite easy to put together, basically follow the pictures in the booklet, although this is a min 2x man job to erect in place and those people ideally should be 6 ft tall. I am not so i used step ladders as supports and braces until it was in position. Cons: 1 x support bracket was shorter than the others but customer service offered a partial refund for the shortfall. I managed to fit a fix around in leu of the short bracket. the awning its self was placed as per instructions unfortunately the folds of the awning when not deployed were in the way of opening the patio doors by about 30cm. which was a pain. when deployed no problem but i cant leave it deployed permanently due to location of the house on the edge of Moors ( very windy at times) and the magnets are not strong enough to hold it deployed. so to get over the closed position problem i reversed the awning so when its deployed it comes towards the doors and secured it with bungee cord. The original expanding bolts wall fixings i replaced with 60mm size 8 screws as it was going into engineering brickwork. Its up now and is very stable, and when that Sun does come out ( SE facing rear garden ) between sunrise -1530 the deployed awning offers the shade i need to protect the kitchen from UV damage without lowering the black out blinds, which means i can still see my lovely garden and the wildlife in it. as you can see from the 1st photo the shade works a treat . it would have been 5 stars if wasn't for the missing piece. i should say this is brilliant pergola if you are securing to an outside wall that just needs to be shaded then the covering folded closed would not be an issue.
